Documenting green innovation in Philly’s Indonesian community

It was my honor to meet the leaders of Feed the Barrel, Philadelphia's first residential oil recycling pilot, started by the city's Indonesian community. Working together to champion this model of green innovation in the city, Sinta, Lena, and Hani are firm believers in integrating government know-how with support at the grassroots level. As part of the inaugural cohort of fellows in the Penn Program in Environmental Humanities, I am interested not only in documenting the progress and evolution of Feed the Barrel, but also in adding value to the initiative by using this platform as a bridge between Philadelphia and other cities around the U.S. - perhaps even around the world.
